Wildlife under threat

The aim of the Wildlife Focus website is to raise awareness of the huge biodiversity of the rainforests, and other wildlife-rich habitats worldwide. The footage we show is taken from nature reserves which have been created to give wildlife a safe home. But in many other places wildlife is critically threatened by loss of habitat. Human settlement, deforestation for agriculture and cattle ranching, and destruction for road building are just some of the threats facing wildlife.

What you can do

There is still hope and your help can make a real difference. WLT was established in 1989 and over the past 19 years, thanks to the generous support of individuals, groups and companies, we have been able to fund the purchase and protection of nearly 375,000 acres of threatened wildlife habitats. WLT raises the funds to save key wildlife areas which are threatened by destruction.  The land is bought from private owners and has a clear undisputed title, which is invested in the local conservation organisations and WLT works with them to ensure long-term conservation, and legal protection of the land.
