Recreated Wetlands

REGUA is gradually restoring some of the damaged and lost habitats in the Guapi Assu valley. These wetlands were drained for farming about 30 years ago, but were re-flooded in 2005 and are now teeming with fish, amphibians and birds. There is a series of trails around the wetlands and REGUA is now re-planting some of the cleared hillsides that overlook them.
