The Chacoan Peccary is found in the semi-arid thorn forest of the Chaco-Pantanal. Diurnal in nature it's preferred food is Cati although it also eats other plants and fruits. The Chacoan Peccary is considered endangered and the main reason for it's decline is decline overhunting and habitat clearance for cattle ranching.
